The 134 km route, with 3,300 meters of climbing, takes you straight into the heart of the Hautes-Alpes, on roads made for climbers. The start from the Orcières Merlette 1850 resort begins with a neutralized peloton, just enough to build the tension before tackling the first ascent of the day: the Ancelle climb, perfect for finding your rhythm.
Next comes the Col de Moissière, a mountain road as consistent as it is spectacular, where everyone can set their own pace before plunging into a thrilling descent toward Beaurepaire.
You then continue on the Beaurepaire – Les Costes section, a rolling, panoramic ribbon of road, perfect for picking up speed again and soaking in the Alpine scenery.
The serious work begins with the Chaillol climb, one of the highlights of the route: a sustained gradient that will make your legs burn and naturally create gaps in the peloton. And just when you think you’ve given it your all, the ramp up to Serre Eyraud will remind you what a real challenge feels like, with sections flirting with 20% — a wall that will leave its mark.
Finally, all that remains is to reach the finish at Orcières Merlette 1850, a proud balcony perched above the valley, to savor your achievement.
The race is scheduled to end at 4:00 p.m., after 8 hours of competition. After this time, you can finish the course at your own pace, but marshals and volunteers will no longer be present to accompany you.
To ensure your safety and the smooth running of the event, time barriers have been put in place. You will find details of our time barriers in your race guide.
Each participant can change their mind, even after the start, and opt for the Medio Fondo if they’re not feeling up to it, or, on the contrary, take on the Gran Fondo if their legs allow it! The timing system will record the actual distance completed.
Important: To be officially ranked, make sure to submit all required documents during registration; otherwise, you will not be classified. The deadline for submitting documents is July 23, 2026.
